Since 911 the flying experience has changed dramatically. Whether you personally experience these changes or not there is plenty of information covering the restrictions and new security protocols implemented in airports since the tragic event on September 11th.
These changes involve admitting only passengers to the gates, while before families and or friends were able to accompany passengers to the gates. Long waiting periods in security lines, requiring passengers to arrive a couple of hours before the flight. Also, limiting passengers with liquids, snacks, and carry-ons add stress to an already intense situation. Further security procedures include shoes removal, avoiding clothing items with metals, and limiting technology devices.
The latest change added in 2019 involve masking due to the COVID 19 pandemic and all related hygiene protocols required of passengers.
With all these stressful demands at the airport, what is left for us to enjoy? Would you like to guess? Dressing for comfort!
Since this is one of the few options remaining for us, to freely choose what we wish to wear. Let's travel comfortably!
For me, traveling comfortably and packing the basics has reduced stress. Being able to travel wearing cashmere, worsted, wool, and cotton clothing items, that are light, comfortable and free of restricing movement, has made a huge difference.
I enjoy the opportunity to travel with leggings, soft tops and dresses that help me relax during the flight and are easy to pack and carry.
